Concept

I have been thinking for months how to use that empty corner space in the corridor, and the idea of making shelves in the shape of a tree came to me in the middle of the night while on vacation in Washington D.C.  For the next few weeks I photographed every interesting tree to see where inspiration may arise. I finally settled on the broad outline, and then I needed to figure out how to make the stylized tree trunk and branches. After much experimentation with form and technique, these shelves came to life.

Customization

These shelves cannot be customized other than the choice of wood.

• Bottom shelf: 28″ x 23″
• Trunk height: 51″

As shown, the shelves are installed individually, by securing them to the drywall with plastic anchors.
